Early Versions 1 – 1.3 (2012)

Version 1: Sketches

Front and back of very first version of a glove using textile sensors instead of off-the shelf commercial sensors. The aim being to make the gloves as soft and comfortable as possible.

Video

This video shows an early stage in prototyping. The glove contains one neoprene bend sensor on the middle finger, one vibration motor mounted on the top of the wrist. Arduino and Bluetooth module are powered by 3.7V LiPo battery. Bend sensor data is streamed to computer, keyboard commands are sent to glove. Commands sent to board switch between different modes: (a) play a sound and modulate the frequency based on sensor input, (b) play a note depending on sensor input, (c) vibrate motor while bend sensor value is bellow a set threshold value.
